'Barbarism' in the Peruvian Amazon

The Peruvian government has cleared the way to exploit mines and oil exploration in the Peruvian Amazon and
The President Alan Garcia has declared actions 'barbaric'. Indigenous people know what will happen when the forest is sold for exploration. They have suffered the consequences of pollution and deforestation which leads to ethnocide and ecocide. Taking a look at what has happen to Brazil and Ecuador and all the pollution and displacement produced, it begs the question who are the real 'barbarians'?
